Faculty Teachers

Brigitte Longueville

Brigitte Longueville(Netherlands) Director of Solstice Yoga Center. Her teachings focus on the opportunity to "restore" innate capacities to their optimal expression through "relaxation as practice" coupled with traditional yoga practice. Her teachings are a reflection of her long study with international teachers and yogis in the area of "traditional" South India yoga, pranayama, critical alignment, anapana and vipassana meditation. She obtained her teaching certificate after completing a 3-year course at The Bharata Institute of Yoga, Amsterdam, Netherlands. The institute is world renowned for it's work in critical alignment. She is a certified Yoga Alliance teacher and teacher trainer. She has been doing pranayama for 25 years and has been practicing vipassana meditation for over 10 years. An international yoga teacher and member of that community, she teaches workshops around the world including the United States, Netherlands, Belgium, India, Antigua (West Indies) and Mexico.

Tsafi Nelken

Tsafi NelkenTsafi Nelken was raised in Israel and he started his sporting career as an athlete doing hurdles. He finished in third place at the Jewish Olympics in 1985. Tsafi started as an amateur in Israel by learning the form of Tai chi & Qigong from the Chinese master Cheng Man-Ch’ing. After the 3 years of military service in Israel, Tsafi went to Thailand in 1993 to deepen his knowledge of this form. Here he was lucky to be taught by the first American student of Cheng Man Ch'ing. In 1997 with the above experience in Tai-chi chuan & Qigong, Tsafi was allowed to teach this form to the many followers of Osho in an ashram in India. As payment Tsafi was allowed to study many different body-related studies like foot reflexology and Crania Sacral massages. For the past 15 years, Tsafi has been learning from his Tai Chi & Qigong master Jo Weyden in the Netherlands. Tsafi own his own Tai Chi and Qigong school called Health-Secrets.

They will provide you with an experience you will never forget! Ancient traditions with Chinese and Indian roots. A meltdown combination creating special powers for bodily benefits, slowing ageing effects and spiritual liberation. This beautiful experience will be ratified with the corresponding 5 elements and body-meridian knowledge from both roots.

5 Days - 5 Elements

Earth
Mother earth has a wealth of hidden treasures in her. The monkey, bear, tiger, snake, dragon and eagle represent this wealth. A solid Tai-Chi and yoga base in which every movement has a deeper, earthly meaning. Actively discouvering the deeper meaning for your personal health!

Air / Metal
The element of air in your life symbolizes the power of thought. Meditation in motion is central. getting started with quieting the mind; just put aside all thoughts. Let go, and distance yourself from your overloading agenda in daily life.

Water
The theme of this day is renewal! Indicate your personal mission and vision for the future and take this on with you this day. The water element is connected to the night in which you gain energy during the sleep for the next day. You will sleep well!

Wood
The element of wood has a wide interest and knows how to bring people to work together. The Wood workshop gives you an experience of the Chi power in yourself in collaboration with others. Wood is compassionate and benevolent. It gives confidence to develop balance, concentration, structure, sensitivity and relaxation.

Fire
Fire is a phase of extreme effort, a maximum output of energy. Like at work where often many of us keep on going to fast. Exercises what make you realize where your weak spots are. Feel the fire in your body and the benefits of extra attention.

Accommodation and Pricing

The retreats take place at Las 3 Marías, an eco-chic retreat and refuge overlooking the Pacific. It is tucked away on a large hillside in the middle of the charming beach town of San Agustinillo on the Pacific Coast of Mexico.

The Yoga Studio offers a gorgeous view of the surrounding hills and the ocean, all under the protection of a high palm roof. It is surrounded by beautiful, handcrafted cabanas of varying sizes.

During your retreat, you'll enjoy creative and delicious vegetarian meals that feature a stunning range of fruits and vegetables obtained fresh daily from local growers and markets.

"My partner and I spent Christmas 2012 week long restorative yoga retreat with Brigitte. We had such a great experience that it was over before we knew it and we had to stay on for a few extra days. This was our first yoga retreat and it far exceeded all of our expectations. It is not the typical yoga that we do in Canada and the USA with lots of flow and movement. Brigitte increased our awareness of every muscle in our bodies and how they relate to the postures we have been doing for so long, but not really understanding.
Many of the participants had been here before and were returning for the 3rd or 4th time. By the end of the week we certainly knew why. We hope to return as well. "
