This session includes therapeutic applications with the use of the knee rods, props developed by BKS Iyengar. Knee rods are used for straight-legged poses positioned as close as possible up to the sides of the kneecaps and held in place by belts strapped above and below. Yoga students do not have to experience knee pain. The application of these props relieves muscular tension around the most important joints of the body and helps in realigning the knees.
